Head of School’s Blog – 5 July 2024

It has been another exciting week in school with our annual Awards Evening taking place on Wednesday. It is so important to be able to celebrate students’ success in being the best version of themselves. Congratulations to all our award winners!

On Tuesday, we also hosted the Federation Games for Year 7. It was a lovely opportunity for students from Medina College and Carisbrooke College to come together and compete. Thank you to the PE department and student ambassadors for making this possible. It was a very close competition but fantastic that our students won and retained the trophy!

Year 10 visited The Island VI Form this week and had a taster of what Post-16 learning is like. Thank you to the staff at the The Island VI Form for providing this opportunity and inspiring our students to start thinking more about their future education and possible career paths.

Next week we have our transition events for our incoming cohort. There will be a transition evening on Monday 8 July and transition day taking place on Tuesday 9 July. It will be a lovely opportunity for Year 6 to come up and sample life at Medina College. We really hope that students enjoy their day and know that our students will make them feel welcome.

It is the time of year where our end of year reward trips are taking place. We really hope students enjoy these days; they have worked very hard for them. Year 10 had a great day at Thorpe Park this week and the other year groups’ trips will be taking place next week. In addition to these trips, a few lucky students will also be attending the Goodwood Festival of Speed on Thursday.

We hope that you have a lovely, safe weekend!
