Head of School's Blog - 22 November 2024

It has been lovely this week to see Year 11 undertaking their Trial Exams. Well done to them all for conducting themselves in a mature and appropriate manner. I really hope that they find this a valuable learning experience and will be excited to see their results in December.

Next week, Year 11 complete their Trial Exams on Wednesday and Year 8 will have some Trial Exams in English, maths and science on Thursday and Friday.

To celebrate National Parliament Week, we were lucky enough to have our local MP, Richard Quigley, come in to talk to Years 7-10 today. It was a fascinating talk and students were really fortunate to have this opportunity. You can read more about this on our website here.

On Thursday this week, despite the cold weather, we also hosted the Island Cross Country Championships. We had some impressive results and were particularly proud of the students who helped with the running of the event.

I would like to give a bit of advanced warning that on Tuesday 3 December we will be holding our first Lockdown drill. We have explained to students what will happen. This will very much be a pre-warned drill to ensure that everyone knows what they are doing.

I would like to finish off by congratulating our Hot Chocolate Friday winners who achieved their place for either 100% attendance in the previous week or were top achievement point winners for their year group. Well done to: Polly, Ruben, Isabelle, Zinzile, Kai, Kailah, Dominic and Joe.

Have a lovely weekend.
