Medina College’s prestigious annual Awards Celebration was held on Wednesday 3 July and what an event it was!

Master of Ceremonies, Mr Wiseman, welcomed everyone and the evening began with a wonderful performance of ‘Hotel California’ from the Year 10 band. Mrs Croke, Interim Executive Headteacher, introduced herself and congratulated the students on the hard work over the last year that had earned them their awards. Miss Begley, Executive Deputy Headteacher welcomed parents and students on behalf of Head of School Mr Pearce-Jones who unfortunately was unable to attend.

There then followed subject awards which were presented by Chair of Governors, Mr Bridgeford. Citations were read by the teachers who nominated the students which added a nice personalised touch.

Year 7 student Freddy Cooke provided a musical interlude with his piano performance of the song ‘Railroad Blues’.

Awards culminated in three very special awards: The Progress and Achievement Award won by Summer G, The Endeavour Award won by Tiegan S and the Head of School Award won by Dillon D.

All in all, it was an evening of celebrating the absolutely marvellous young people that it is our privilege to nurture and teach.
