A warm welcome to the summer term.
I would like to start with some celebrations. This week we had a fantastic 'Evening of Excellence', hosted by Mrs Brear - celebrating languages, with students from Year 9 - 13 delivering presentations in French to family/friends and a panel of French judges. We were also very lucky to have a speaker, Mr Mark Walker OBE, give an inspirational speech about the power of languages and how important they are in the world today. You can read more about this below.
Thank you to all of our Year 10 parents/carers who came to Parents' Evening this week. We have had some very positive feedback about how informative and helpful this evening was.
Additionally we welcomed BAE Systems into school this week to present to our students - again thank you to them for their support and our students for their engagement with the roadshow. More details can be found below.
The two half terms ahead are significant for all of our students, but particularly Year 11 and Year 13. The exam season is very nearly here (and has started for our Arts students). It is important for all of our young people that they give themselves the best possible opportunities for their futures. Please support us by encouraging them to attend every day, take an active part in revision sessions in school, maintain their revision timetables at home, eat well, sleep well and relax too.
Finally, a thank you to our parents/carers for supporting us with our continued work around being Ready, Respectful and Safe. All stakeholders in the school community are vitally important as we progress and achieve.
Have a wonderful weekend.
