Young Enterprise Company ProgrammeIsle of Wight Grand Final

The Isle of Wight Young Enterprise Company Programme Grand Final took place at the Island Riding Centre on Tuesday 30 April.

Teams from schools and colleges across the Island set up trade stands to showcase their businesses to local organisations, visitors and the competition judges, before making a presentation about their Company Programme journey to the audience.

The Wild Wax Melts team, made up of Freya and Sophie from Carisbrooke College and Archie from Medina College were overall winners and also received the Dianne Butler Financial Management Award. Their business was recognised for its professional approach and impressive profit generated in creating and selling a range of beautifully scented quality wax melts.

Team Insignia, comprised of Molly-Nora, Lissy and Morgan from Carisbrooke College were runners-up. Their business of designing, manufacturing and selling badges was praised for its high profit margins and for their success in growing their business through working with corporate clients.

Both teams will now compete in the Hampshire and IW Finals on Wednesday 15 May. We wish both teams the best of luck!
