Year 9 Options
Year 9 students complete their Key Stage 3 courses in July and move onto Key Stage 4 courses in September as they begin Year 10. This is an exciting stage in a student's educational journey and the decisions made about course options can impact on their future pathways.
Deciding which courses to take can be difficult, and this is why we place great emphasis on advice, support and guidance so that the process can be as straightforward as possible.
Key Dates in the Options Process
| January and February | Assemblies and in-class sessions introduce the subjects available. |
| Wednesday 5 March |
Options Evening for students and parents/carers to meet subject staff and discuss course content. Options selection form will be issued. |
| Friday 14 March | Deadline for return of options form. |
| Spring Term 2 and Summer Term 1 | Discussions with students about options choices. |
| Summer Term 2 | Confirmation of options subjects. |
