Head of School’s Blog – 12 July 2024

We are now entering the final two weeks of term before we reach the end of the academic year. Can I please remind you that the last day of term is Friday 26 July and we will finish at normal time on this day.

This week we had Transition Day and this went incredibly well. It was lovely to see the new Year 7 students come up and visit us and we really hope that they enjoyed their day with us. Our current students were fantastic ambassadors who made them all feel really welcome.

Also this week, we continued to have end of year reward trips and also had a trip out to the Goodwood Festival of Speed yesterday which was an amazing opportunity for our young people.

Next week, we have the Prom for Year 11 which I know will be a lovely event to mark the end of their time at Medina College. I personally can’t wait to see them all dressed up for the occasion!

Can I take this opportunity to remind you of our school uniform expectations. Students should be wearing black shoes, blazers, white shirts, ties and either pleated skirts or tailored trousers. Leggings are not allowed. It is really important that students take pride in their appearance and demonstrate themselves to be good ambassadors for our community.

Finally, I mentioned I was to be off school for two weeks due to an operation. As of today, I am back in school and I am very pleased to be back.

Have a lovely weekend when it comes.
