Head of School’s Blog – 28 June 2024
Welcome to the end of our third week back at school. It has been lovely to see some warm weather for once. I hope any of you who went to the festival at the weekend had a safe and enjoyable time. It has been lovely to hear some of our students’ experiences this week.
We have an exciting week coming up next week with the Federation Games for Year 7 on Tuesday and our annual Awards Evening on Wednesday.
As you have seen in communication this week, we will be joining HISP Academy Trust on Monday 1 July. There will be further communication home from our new Executive Headteacher Mrs Croke in due course. It is a very exciting time for us as a school as we move forward and all the excellent benefits it will bring to the school being part of a mutli-academy trust.
In terms of my own role, I will be continuing as Head of School which brings a lovely balance of change and continuity for our students, although my role will be expanding to include being Head of School at the VI Form as well. However, I have communicated to students that I will be absent from school for two weeks now due to the fact I need to have an operation on my neck to have some discs removed. Please rest assured that we have a clear leadership team in place for whilst I am absent and normal service will return shortly. I am very much hoping to still be able to make an appearance at the Awards Evening and the upcoming Transition Evening for our new Year 7 cohort.
I hope you all have a lovey weekend and I will write to you again in a couple of weeks’ time.
